High Pressure Cleaning of Very High Capacity Rotary Air Preheater

DERC PLC controlled Air Preheater Cleaner XXL is a touch screen controlled fully automatic PLC controlled Air Preheater Cleaner. The vacuum has a very high capacity of 2x 1000 liters per minute at 500 bar/ 7K. This XXL version can clean a rotating air preheater with a diameter of 19 meters. The Air Preheater cleaner runs on a 10.5 meter segmented guide rail.

Controlled from a Safe Distance, PLC Controlled

Specially designed electrically powered trolley with ball bearing wheels moves the manifold with 14 nozzles each (2x M42 DK0S). The Air Preheater Cleaner can be positioned very quickly with high precision (+/- 1 millimeter). For each cleaning job, the operator can set the cleaning parameters on the control box’s touch screen. Some parameters are: outside diameter, inside diameter, rotational speed of the air preheater, width of the manifold and overlap relative to the previous cleaning position. Logged data can be provided with a unique ID and downloaded by a USB port so that the effective cleaning time can be determined later. The operator operates the Air Preheater Cleaner with the touchscreen at a safe distance outside the air preheater. The operator monitors and operates the process.

Cleaning the Rotating Plate Element in the Air Preheater

The 2.5 meter thick turntable element in the air preheater will be cleaned from both sides at the same time. With the extremely high capacity and cleaning program, the middle layers will be cleaned in the best way.

Large Air Preheater, modular construction
For example, segmented guide rails with a strain of 10.5 meters and an effective working area of 9.5 meters will be specified per customer. We have several end pieces to attach the guide rails to the wall. With a 10.5 meter cross section guide rail we were able to clean a 2.5 meter plate element very effectively. The guide rails and the cleaner come, for example, in 2-metre modular pieces and can be applied in the field and in any situation.
